There are many chemical peel products being sold incorporating additional "active or action ingredients" in the peel formula.

For example, there are chemical peel formulations that combine glycolic acid with peptides in the peel formula.

We know that glycolic acid has positive effects on the skin and we know that various peptides have positive effects on the skin.

As per the XYZ company treatment instructions, we are to apply the glycolic acid peel with peptides on the skin for 3-5 minutes. Then we neutralize the glycolic acid peel, and then we thoroughly rinse the skin.

A Few Questions Should Come to Your Mind

How much of the "peptide" actually penetrated in the skin in 3-5 minutes?

When the skin was neutralized and thoroughly rinsed, how much "peptide was left on the skin?

Did the skin benefit from a 3-5 minute of exposure to the "peptide"?

What does the Peptide Company Say

If we were to look to the company that actually developed that particular peptide, they state in their research and ingredient testing that the peptide needs to be applied a min. of 2x a day, for 6 weeks for visible improvement in the skin. The company does not say to apply the peptide for 3-5 minutes and rinse off.

Knowing this, it would make sense to purchase a glycolic peel or lactic peel, prep the skin, apply the peel, neutralize the peel and rinse.  Then, apply a peptide serum directly on the skin that stays on the skin for maximum benefit.
