Understanding Skin Conditions
A large percentage of skin problems, referred to as skin conditions, are a direct result of using the incorrect skincare product and/or formulation. For example, an oily skin type may start to feel dry due to the use of overly drying products such as exfoliants, antibacterial products, soap-based or strong alkaline cleansers. To counter the dryness, the oily skin type will begin to use moisturizers that may be too rich or overnourishing resulting in an increase of blemishes and clogged pores. The skin conditions in this case, blemishes, clogged pores, and surface dehydration are the result of improper skin care products and usage.
Quite often there will be multiple skin conditions occurring at the same time and it can be difficult to determine what is causing or creating these skin problems. It is important to have a thorough skin diagnosis that addresses the history of the individual, the lifestyle of the individual and the use or lack of use of skincare products & treatments.
